Sixth Form Events & The Tina Wheelhouse Memorial Award
Throughout the year the Sixth Form runs events, both for the Sixth Form and the rest of the school.
The Sixth Form Council works together to organise events such as dress up days for charity, a Christmas party, Charity Week, an End of Year Prom and sports tournaments.
A massive thank you goes out to everybody who took part in Charity Week 2018, either through participation in the events or by just coming to watch. It is amazing how much of a difference we can make to the lives of so many people, while having a great time ourselves.
The final total raised was £3396.55 which is an amazing and record breaking amount. This will be divided equally between our chosen charities. Well done to all! - Charity Officer
The Tina Wheelhouse Memorial Award
In 2016 we had confirmation from Justin Wheelhouse confirming his happiness that we establish The Tina Wheelhouse Memorial Award in the Sixth Form. This award will be given annually to the Year 13 Student ‘who exhibits an ongoing commitment and loyalty to the school, who is characterised by their enthusiasm and their spirit of service and love for others.’ This award will be nominated by staff and members of the Sixth Form Council and then voted on by staff. The top four nominees will be recognised on the night of the Sixth Form Gala. The winning candidate will be inscribed on a shield that will remain in the school in the school trophy case, but a smaller glass trophy will be granted to this person. We will make a donation in the name of the award to a charity of the student’s choice in recognition of Tina’s giving nature. The 2016 winner was Chris Walker. The 2017 winner was Paul Booth. The 2018 winner was Lauren Judge.
