The Holy Trinity Church of England Secondary School

Enrichment Week - Monday 13th to Thursday 16th July 2020

We are delighted to announce that we are launching a Holy Trinity Enrichment Week at the end of the academic year, that we hope will excite, enthuse and challenge our students in areas outside of their academic studies. This programme of activities has been carefully put together to ensure that every student at Holy Trinity gets the opportunity to experience something new; broadening their horizons, friendship groups and sense of self.

Our Enrichment Week will be an off-timetable experience for all students, allowing them to take part in a wide range of fun and exciting activities - that would not normally be possible under the constraints of the normal school timetable. Your son/daughter has worked incredibly hard and we want to celebrate this and reward them, by sharing a special and unique school week.

Why do we do Enrichment?

The purpose of Enrichment is to provide extended learning opportunities within the school. Students can develop life skills for everyday life, develop transferable skills that are desirable for universities and employers, and to pursue their own interest and passions at a greater depth. The four days will give our students the opportunity to develop and show, in abundance, the four underpinning elements of our school; Dignity, Community, Wisdom and Hope.

The out of this world astronaut Tim Peake famously said that:- “Character is important – a CV may get you the interview, but character will get you the job”. We hope that Enrichment Week will be a time for students to work on their Character Developments – whilst having as much fun as possible!

What activities are on offer?

We have made every effort to offer a wide range of activities to excite and challenge the students and provide them with opportunities that may not have been open to them previously.

Click here to see the booklet which shows all the activities for all the Year Groups.

Some activities will be conducted as a whole year group, and some will allow your child to choose the activities that they would like to do. This year we are able to provide a broad range of both onsite and offsite activities. Some activities will have a cost associated with them, this will cover the cost of travel, insurance, and any entry fees that may apply. It might also cover the cost of workshop leaders, materials or ingredients etc.

During the week every student will have:

  • 1 x Whole Year Group Educational Trip

  • 1 x Whole Year Group Celebration Trip

  • 2 x Options “Freedom” days where students pick and sign up for an activity of their choice

Read through the Enrichment Programme booklet carefully. Students need to choose either Offsite or Onsite activities for their two Options Days.

  • After choosing their activities you will need to complete the online form with a first and second choice of activity. We will endeavour to allow your child to take part in their first-choice activity, but some have limited places due to transport constraints. Therefore, these trips will be on a first come first served basis. After the number limit is reached a reserve list will be created and a ballot will take place if a place becomes available.

  • Please make sure that all your details have been completed and submitted on the relevant Form, as this will provide all the information that we need regarding permission, Emergency Contact details etc.

Choices MUST be completed by FRIDAY 31ST JANUARY 2020Students that fail to submit their online Form, showing their choices, will be allocated an onsite activity for the Freedom days.

Payment for Trips, Activities and Materials

Please be aware, when making choices for the Enrichment Week, that if insufficient payment contributions are made then trips and activities will not be able to run. In this event other onsite options will be made available so that all students have a complete programme for each day.

Paymentfor all trips and activities can be made online at www.scopay.com/holytrinity or via the Scopay app.  Payments cannot be made until after Monday 10th February when placements for each activity will have been secured and confirmed with students. If you would like to spread the cost of activities, rather than paying for everything all at once, you can do so by spreading the cost between February and May. Please note that payment must be received by midnight on Friday 22nd May at the latest.

Should you have trouble in using the online system please contact the Finance Office. financeofficer@holytrinitycrawley.org.uk If you have not yet been able to set up your scopay account then please contact financeofficer@holytrinitycrawley.org.uk to ask for the pupil access code needed to create a personal account.
